LAW IMM Analysis:

USCIS has announced that it will reuse the previously submitted biometrics so that it can continue to process and adjudicate the validly filed Form I-765 Employment Authorization Document (EAD) extension requests, even in light of the temporary closure of the USCIS Application Support Centers (ASCs) to the public due to the current COVID-19 crisis.

USCIS also explains that those I-765 EAD applicants who had an appointment already scheduled with the ASCs on or after the March 18, 2020 closure notification, or they had filed an I-765 extension of EAD will be allowed to have their applications processed using previously submitted biometrics. And the USCIS will keep this rule in effect until the ASCs are open for appointments to the general public.

This is another measure that the USCIS has adopted to allow for some discretion and leeway for the I-765 EAD applicants in light of the current viral outbreak.
